Saving energy at home
Below are a few good habits the whole family can pick-up! Click on the SYNERY link on the right for more energy-saving tips.

Turn off lights, TV, and/or computer when not in use. Place reminder notes on light switches.

Keep the refrigerator/freezer doors closed as much as possible (No peeking!).

Shorten your shower to 10 minutes or less (Use a timer.).

Wash a full load of clothes in cold water; detergents are made to clean with cold water.

Air dry dishes in the dishwasher after washing a full load of dishes (Many detergents are spot-free.).

Thaw foods prior to cooking to reduce cooking time.

Use the proper pots/pans with the proper burner (Example: A 6” pot on a 6” burner).

Unplug battery chargers when not in use.

Consider closing the window blinds during the day to reduce the amount of heat entering the home.

Be sure all windows and doors are closed when using the AC. Keep thermostat at a reasonable temperature.
